The Civil Engineering Division(CED) of the Department of Space is responsible for planning, design, construction and maintenance of all ground based structures and associated utilities to cater to the Space Programme. The line functions in the execution of works are carried out by Chief Construction Engineers. Eligibility:

• BE/B.Tech/B.Arch/B.Sc. Engg/Grad IETE/AMIE in Architecture/Civil/Electrical and Electronics Engineering in First Class with an aggregate minimum of 65% (average of all semesters for which results are available).
• Final semester/year students are also eligible to apply provided the aggregate of all the previous(including Pre-final) semesters/years, as indicated above and the final Degree result is available by September 30, 2007.

For Scientist Engineer-SC(Architecture) : Knowledge of latest version of Autocad is desirable and 3D modeling & walk through using latest software is desirable.

JOB SPECIFICATION FOR SCIENTIST/ENGINEER - SC(ARCHITECTURE)

• Preparation of sketch scheme including perspectives and model.
• Preparation of working drawings including details.
• Co-ordination of structural, electrical, mechanical and A/C designs with architectural design.
• Formulation of outline specification for finishing materials.
• Assisting Chief Architect in correspondence with user Scientists and Site Engineers.
• Periodic visits to construction sites.
• Using software such as Autocad, Autoarchitect, etc., for the preparation of drawings.

JOB SPECIFICATION FOR SCIENTIST/ENGINEER - SC(CIVIL)

• Design of Buildings, Quantity surveying supervision of construction of high rise buildings, Technical buildings, along with services like roads, water supply and sewage treatment, etc.
• Exposure to Computers for Computer Aided Design and Construction Technology is desirable.

JOB SPECIFICATION FOR SCIENTIST/ENGINEER - SC(ELECTRICAL & ELCTRONICS)

• Installation, testing, commissioning, operation and maintenance of 11 KV substations, DG sets, Electrical panel boards, UPS systems, Automatic voltage stabilizers, etc Electrification of buildings including lighting, power, smoke detection systems and lightning protection schemes for conventional and hazardous buildings. Familiarisation with modern project management software packages and electrical safety codes.

How to apply :

• The application for on-line registration will be hosted in the ISRO web-site from 16-May-2007 to 18-June-2007. Applications will be received on-line only. Upon registration, applicants will be provided with an on-line Registration Number, which should be carefully preserved for future reference. E-mail ID of the applicant will have to be given in the application compulsorily.
• The on-line application has to be invariably followed-up with a `No Objection Certificate' from the employer concerned, by those already in employment under Central/State Government, Central/State Government Public Sector Undertakings or Central/State Government Autonomous Bodies, duly indicating the name and Reg. No. on the reverse.
• There will be an Application Fee of Rs.100/- (Rupees One Hundred Only) for each application. Demand Draft details need to be filled-in at the time of on-line registration. The candidate before filing his/her application has to take a DD for Rs.100/- from any of the Nationalized Bank in favour of the Sr. Accounts Officer, ISRO HQ, Bangalore, payable at Bangalore.
• The Applicant should enter the DD Number, date and name of the Bank in the space provided for the same in the web application. After filing the application, on-line, the applicant has to send the DD with his/her Full Name (as entered in web), Post Number and Registration No. written on the reverse of the DD to Senior Administrative Officer (RPC), CED Headquarters, Antariksh Bhavan, New BEL Road, Bangalore - 560094 by ordinary post superscribing on the envelope "CED RECRUITMENT".
• Please note that applications, in respect of which DDs have not been received with Name as mentioned in the application and Registration Number on the reverse, will not be considered.
• Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Persons with Disabilities (PWD) candidates are exempted from Application Fee. However, SC/ST and PWD candidates will have to send attested Caste Certificate and Medical Certificate of Board as applicable by post to Senior Administrative Officer duly indicating the Name, Post No. and Reg.No. on the reverse. Applications of candidates claiming SC/ST/PWD status and therefore exemption from Application Fee will be considered only if the duly attested Caste Certificate/Medical Certificate is received. The DD/Caste Certificate/Medical Certificate and `No Objection Certificate' in respect of candidates employed under Central/State Govt/Central or State Government PSU/Central or State Government Autonomous Body should reach Civil Engineering Division Headquarters, Bangalore within seven days of filing the applications by the candidates and in any case not later than 25-June-2007.

Selection Process:

The qualification prescribed is the minimum requirement and the same does not automatically make candidates eligible for Interview. Based on biodata, initial screening will be conducted to short-list candidates for Interview. The short listed candidates will be intimated to attend the Interview to be held at Civil Engineering Division Headquarters, Bangalore. Candidates attending the interview will be reimbursed to and fro second-class train fare by the shortest route from the address given in the application to the place of interview.

Pay and Allowances:

Selected personnel will be appointed as Scientist/Engineer-SC in the scale of pay of Rs.8000-275-13500/(Pay scale likely to be revised based on 6th Central Pay Commission recommendations.) The gross emoluments in the minimum of scale will at present be approximately Rs.18,700/- p.m. including all allowances such as HRA, Transport Allowance, etc. The emoluments are likely to be revised in due course of time based on the 6th Central Pay Commission recommendations. The employees will be governed by the New Pension Scheme.
